Tens of thousands of Verizon wireless customers are reporting outages in cell service across the country, including in Southern California.

According to the outage-tracking site Downdetector, nearly 200,000 people have reported outages, with the Los Angeles area identified as a particularly hard-hit area.
Other major cities affected included New York, Chicago, Houston, and Atlanta.
In a statement, Verizon officials said its "engineering teams are continuing to address today's service interruptions. Our teams remain fully deployed and are focused on the issue. We understand the impact this has on your day and remain committed to resolving this as quickly as possible."
