Armed robbers have been hitting up people in the Mid-City area for the last six weeks. Their primary targets are people wearing Rolex watches and other expensive jewelry.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, there’ve been at least seven robberies since January 30.
One burglary was caught on surveillance camera. The video shows what appears to be two men jumping out of car in broad daylight, tackling a victim, and violently stripping him of his jewelry.
Most of the robberies take place along the bustling shopping district along Melrose Ave.
LAPD says the suspects use various cars to follow victims out of stores or restaurants, then wait for them to walk to their cars. The suspects then hold up the victims while armed.
