INGLEWOOD (KNX) — Speaking Thursday night, Inglewood Mayor James Butts shared new details about the fight outside SoFi Stadium that left a man who was initially believed to be a 49ers fan injured badly enough that he had to be put into a medically-induced coma.
Butts said surveillance video shows that the victim, identified as Daniel Luna of Oakland, Calif, seems to have started the altercation with another fan at the stadium during the NFC Championship game.

“It appears that the injured person, Luna, pushed the suspect from behind,” Butts said.
“It appears that the suspect then retaliated by pushing Mr. Luna from behind and then struck [him] once in the mouth area. Mr. Luna fell to the ground where he was later found by personnel.”
Butts said the video shows Luna with several other people in red jerseys, presumably San Francisco 49ers fans, and the man who punched him wearing a Los Angeles Rams jersey.
While the video is not clear enough to identify the suspect, Butts said in the video he is seen talking to the driver of a car. Police are now searching for that vehicle to find the man responsible for punching Luna.
Luna, 40, is the owner of Mistura, a Peruvian restaurant in Oakland, Calif. He remains hospitalized at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in the medically-induced coma following the altercation.
