On Wednesday this week, Jasveen Sangha is expected to make her appearance in federal court for the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry.
Also known as the “Ketamine Queen,” Sangha is expected to appear in court along with Salvador Plasencia, one of Perry’s doctors, and three other people who have been charged in connection to Perry’s overdose last year.
Sangha and Plasencia have pleaded not guilty.
Charges were brought after a lengthy investigation, which uncovered text messages that showed Plasencia was Perry’s “go-to” guy for ketamine. Weeks before the actor’s death, he even met with Perry in a public parking lot to give him a ketamine injection.
Ketamine is an anesthetic that is manufactured commercially as a powder or liquid. It’s known as a chemical cousin of the drug PCP and can cause hallucinations while impacting breathing and the heart.
Prosecutors have alleged that Plasencia got $55,000 in cash from Perry for the drug two months before he died. In the three days leading up to his death, he had at least 27 shots of ketamine, which Sangha is accused of providing him.
A conviction of Plasencia could see him receive up to 120 years in prison, while Sangha could get life in prison.
For the Ketamine Queen, prosecutors have said she ran a narcotics operation from her apartment in North Hollywood, building a reputation as a “celebrity drug dealer.”
