
LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles Police are searching for the driver responsible for fatally hitting a woman in her thirties Friday and leaving her to die.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. as the woman was crossing westbound Vermont Avenue, just north of 186th Street, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement. The driver struck her as they drove northbound on Vermont Avenue.

"The driver of the vehicle left the scene, failed to stop, identify himself/herself or attempt to render aid," LAPD said.
"Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the [woman] dead at scene. At this time [her] name is being withheld until next-of-kin has been notified."
LAPD said the suspect's car is described as a black, early model medium sized sedan. There is not other information about the suspect or their vehicle.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise, LAPD said.
