A 41-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision after a dark SUV slammed into her and did not stop Friday in the Florence-Graham neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were called around 12:30 a.m. to Central Ave. and 82nd St. where witnesses told them the SUV was driving south on Central when it fatally struck the woman, who was walking in the roadway, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The LAPD's South Traffic is handling the investigation of the collision.
