On Monday, a California jury ruled that Bill Cosby sexually assaulted Donna Motsinger in 1972, awarding her more than $19 million in damages.
Motsinger, a former waitress, said Cosby drugged her and attacked her after taking her to one of his shows.
While Cosby, 88, did not testify, his lawyer said he plans to appeal.
Ms. Motsinger said she’s glad to be believed and hopes this helps other women come forward.
This marks another major civil judgment against the comedian, whose criminal conviction was overturned in 2021.
