L.A. City Fire Arson and LAPD Robbery Homicide Division are now working to determine if the fire was the cause of death or if the woman was killed and the fire was set in an attempt to destroy evidence at the scene.

KNX News' Pete Demetriou reports that neighbors say homeless people have been living in the alley for some time, but they have had little contact with them.

The medical examiner has not yet identified the woman.
