Average LA County gas price hits highest amount in months

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Saturday to its highest amount since Nov. 29, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.952, one day after also increasing 1.1 cents.

The back-to-back increases follow three consecutive decreases totaling eight-tenths of a cent, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service


The average price is 1.4 cents more than one week ago, 14.6 cents higher than one month ago and 4 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.542 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since Nov. 21, increasing 1.3 cents to $4.908, one day after a streak of three consecutive decreases totaling seven-tenths of a cent ended with an increase of 1.6 cents.

The Orange County average price is 1.8 cents more than one week ago, 14.1 cents higher than one month ago and 3.8 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.551 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose 1.7 cents to $3.455, its fourth consecutive increase. It rose two-tenths of a cent Wednesday, 1.6 cents Thursday and 2.6 cents Friday.

The national average price is 5.8 cents more than one week ago and 17.1 cents higher than one month ago but nine-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.561 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
