Hutchins' mother and sister live in Ukraine and are represented by high-profile attorney Gloria Allred.
"Halyna's family was devastated after hearing that the criminal case against Alec Baldwin was dismissed by the judge before the jury was given the opportunity to fully hear the facts related to Halyna's death," said Allred during a Christmas Eve press conference.
If given the opportunity to plead their case in front of a jury, Allred believes the members would "do the right thing."
In 2021, Alec Baldwin was rehearsing a shooting scene on the set of "Rust" with a gun containing a live round instead of a blank. It went off when he pointed it at the camera, killing Hutchins.
"Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed is serving an 18-month prison sentence in New Mexico for Halyna's death, as it was her responsibility to ensure no live rounds were on the set. Still, the Hutchins family believes Baldwin is culpable.
"[Baldwin] has never contacted our family to apologize or accept any responsibility whatsoever for her death," Halyna's sister said in a letter read on her behalf by Allred.
Allred said the legal team will do everything legally 'possible and appropriate' to ensure justice for Halyna and her family.
