Americans aren’t too happy with the job President Joe Biden is doing, as a new poll has found his disapproval rating is the highest it’s been during his presidency.

The NBC News poll was released Sunday and showed that 56% of voters disapproved of Biden while 41% said they approved.

The poll highlights the recent trend of voter concern in regard to the president and his current plan to seek reelection in 2024. Among key voting demographics, support for the president appeared to be waning.

For voters ages 18-24, 46% of respondents said they approved of the job Biden is doing in office, followed by 43% of Latinos and 46% of independent voters.

If Biden were to run again, Americans would be served a second course of the 2020 election, something several polls, including one CNN poll from June, have shown voters don’t want.

Despite this, Democrats don’t appear to be offering alternatives to the president, and former President Donald Trump is leading his closest GOP opponent by 43 points despite his four indictments.

Trump is leading in the field of Republicans, with 59% of primary voters selecting him as their first choice, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in second place, with 16%, the poll showed.

The poll also found that support for Trump to remain the Republican party’s leader grew nearly 10 points from June, jumping to 58% from 49%.

When it comes to the faults of both candidates, many on both sides of the aisle continue to point to Biden’s age as a problem, with 74% of voters saying he isn’t mentally and physically able to be president, while 44% said the same for 77-year-old Trump.

However, 20% of voters who expressed concerns about the 80-year-old president’s age said they would still support him, despite their concerns, if he were to run against Trump.

Pollsters asked respondents who they would vote for in a 2024 hypothetical rematch against Trump and Biden, to which the two tied at 46%.

The NBC News poll was conducted from Sept. 15-19. It contained responses from 1,000 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.
