
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday that the Coppertone brand of sunscreens was issuing a nationwide, voluntary recall of five products, citing presence of benzene in their formulas.
Benzene has been identified as a carcinogen.
The products included in the recall are Coppertone Pure & Simple SPF 50 five-ounce aerosol sunscreen spray, Coppertone Pure & Simple Kids SPF 50 five-ounce aerosol spray, Coppertone Pure & Simple Baby SPF 50 five-ounce aerosol spray, Coppertone Sport Mineral PSF 50 five-ounce aerosol spray and travel-size Coppertone Sport Spray SPF 50 1.6-ounce aerosol spray.
Refunds may be processed through the voluntary recall website.
