About four thousand conservatives are gathering today at the Hilton Anatole near downtown Dallas for the Conservative Political Action Conference “America Uncanceled” event. But a couple of Republican power players will not be making an appearance.

Gov. Greg Abbott is not on the event’s agenda. Neither is Sen.
Ted Cruz, who says he can’t make it because of a family commitment.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick will be there, however. He’s opening the conference this afternoon with a speech called “Don’t Mess with Texas … or America.” Donald Trump Junior is speaking today, as well.

The conference is three days long. Tomorrow’s slate of events kicks off with a presentation called "Power Over the People: The Left’s Agenda Must be Reversed."

Former President Donald Trump is headlining the event. He's scheduled to make a few remarks and close out the conference Sunday afternoon.

CPAC is produced by the ACU and has been around for nearly 50 years. Ronald Reagan gave the first keynote in 1974.
