According to a report citing a source familiar with the situation, Disney has begun its third round of expected layoffs, this time cutting more than 2,500 positions within the company.

The report comes from CNN, which noted that those who are seeing their jobs eliminated will be notified by the company this week.

The source shared with the media outlet that this is expected to be the last of three significant rounds of cuts previously announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger.

While the third round of layoffs was expected, it is not currently known which divisions at the company will see workers lose their jobs.

The layoffs come at a tumultuous time for the company.

In March and April, roughly 4,000 jobs were eliminated across the company’s numerous subsidiaries, including at ESPN, Disney’s entertainment division, Disney Parks, and more.

Last week the company also shared that it was scrapping a plan to expand its park in Florida amidst an ongoing back and forth with the state’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The Walt Disney Company announced it was pulling out of the deal, which would have seen around $1.7 billion invested in the Orlando area, sending around 2,000 workers from California to Florida.

Overall, Iger is expected to cut an estimated 7,000 jobs from his company’s global workforce when his final wave of cuts wraps up this month. The move, announced in February, is expected to save the company nearly $5.5 billion in costs.
