The internet adage says that at some point in the day many people put their coffee on the bench and tell alcohol to suit up, but in its latest release, coffee giant Dunkin’ has officially thrown its hat into the booze game so you don't have to swap one out for the other.
You can have coffee and booze in one drink.
Dunkin' shared on Monday that in the coming weeks, it will roll out Spiked Iced Coffees and Iced Teas, according to a report from CNN.
The beverages are slotted to have an early September release. The teas and coffees will be malt-based beverages and come in at least eight flavors.
The beverages will be released under the name Dunkin’ Spiked, and Dunkin President Scott Murphy told the media outlet that the drinks mean “you can start and end your day with Dunkin’, which is a testament to our continuous drive for innovation and understanding our fans’ desires.”
The spiked coffee drink will come in original, caramel, vanilla, and mocha, according to the company’s website. Each drink will not only contain 6% alcohol by volume, but it will also have an additional 30 milligrams of caffeine.
The tea options are black tea with a twist of lemon, named slightly sweet; a combination of half black tea and half lemonade, named half and half; strawberry dragonfruit; and mango pineapple. They will contain 5% alcohol by volume and carry 15-30 milligrams of caffeine.
Fans who are itching to get their hands on one of the beverages won’t have to wait as long for the teas, as Dunkin’ shared that they will hit shelves in late August.
The company shared that the drinks will launch in “Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, and Vermont,” adding, “More states to come in 2024 and beyond!”
Dunkin’ isn’t the only soft beverage to make the jump to a liquor-based option, as other drinks like SunnyD and more have also made recent moves to enter the market.
