Honda is recalling more than 205,000 SUVs in the United States to fix an issue that could cause fuel to leak unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a fire.
The recall involves certain 2023-2024 Passport and 2023-2025 Pilot vehicles, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The automaker says the vehicles have a fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe that may separate, allowing fuel to leak.
"Some vehicles may have an incomplete connection between the fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe. As a result, the fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe can separate in the event of a crash, allowing fuel to leak," the notice says.
If a fuel leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, it increases the risk of fire or injury.
The recall covers approximately 205,760 vehicles.
Honda said it is not aware of any injuries or deaths related to the issue. As on Nov. 20, 2024, it has received one warranty claim.
Honda will inform the owners of recalled vehicles by early January and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, properly connect the fuel filler neck tube to the fuel filler pipe, free of charge.
