An Arkansas judge has ruled that President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, must attend all court hearings related to his ongoing paternity case in the state from here on out.
The ruling came from Independence County Circuit Judge Holly Meyer, who lashed out at the attorneys representing both sides during a Zoom call on Monday, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
“From now on ... I want both of your clients at every hearing I conduct,” Meyer told the legal representation for Biden and Lunden Roberts, the mother of his 4-year-old daughter. “I will no longer allow us to excuse clients ... because it is interfering with the progress of litigation, which is taking way too long to get over simple points.”
The comments from Meyer came after one of Biden’s attorneys, Brent Langdon, commented on his client’s alleged laptop that was left at a repair shop and allegedly contained some of his tax records.
Langdon said that one of Roberts’ expert witnesses, who could potentially testify in the case, says he is knowledgeable about the contents of what was on the computer but that his client has never said it is his.
“There has never been, to my knowledge, an acknowledgment that this so-called laptop — he continuously calls it Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop …” Langdon began before being interrupted by Meyer.
“Well, let’s clear that issue up right now. Is it your client’s laptop or not?” she asked.
“Your honor, I’m not involved in all of that stuff,” Langdon said. “It’s not my client’s laptop, as far as I know.”
The back-and-forth between the two continued with Langdon saying he was in no position to comment about the ownership of the laptop when Meyer pressed him.
Langdon had also filed a motion seeking a restraining order against the potential witness, Garret Ziegler, a former adviser to former President Donald Trump and an expert witness on the contents of Biden’s laptop who Roberts has enlisted.
The temporary restraining order was declined by Meyer.
Roberts is seeking child support from Biden after a DNA test in January 2020 showed “with near scientific certainty” that he was the girl’s father, the Gazette reported.
The 53-year-old son of the current president will now be required to be at his hearings in person, with the next one scheduled for May 1 at 9 a.m.
