An Akansas man who chose to storm the U.S. Capitol and plop himself down in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's chair to take selfies does not believe he should be sitting in jail for one more day, and he had a temper tantrum in court to prove it.
"They're dragging this out. They're letting everyone else out," Richard "Bigo" Barnett said from jail during his Thursday court hearing. Adding: "It's not fair" and "This has been a bunch of crap."
The 60-year-old self-described white nationalist, is facing several charges, including theft.
What seems to have sprked Barnett's ire is that many of the other rioters have been released from jail pending trial, as federal judges have deemed them non-violent, and therefore not required to be held.
"They can't keep pushing me out month by month!" he yelled, begging to be released and not held for "another month" while others are "already home."
U.S. District Court Judge Christopher R. Cooper was apparently not in agreement with Barnett and set his next court date to May 4.
The Daily Beast reports that several of the Capitol insurrectionists were released on bond because they're not considered "a risk of flight or a danger to the community." Barnett however was seen with a weapon inside the Capitol, so he's considered a danger.
In an interview with federal authorities, Barnett admitted to driving to D.C. from Arkansas to participate in the "Stop the Steal" rally, but alleges that he was "pushed inside of the Capitol by a large crowd."
