In his first interview in nearly four years, James Franco spoke on the sexual assault allegations that have been made against him, his former collaborator Seth Rogen's comments on no longer working him, and his sex addiction.
On the allegations and his silence on them, Franco says that there were people who were upset with him and that he needed to listen. He said he wanted to apologize, "But what that doesn’t do is allow you to do the work to look at what was underneath.” It wasn't until he received a book from his sister-in-law on sex & love addiction that he realized he had a sex addiction. He claims to have been "doing a lot of work" to recover from that.
In response to Franco's longtime friend, Seth Rogen, saying he would no longer work with him, he said he understands that he had to answer for him, but that he doesn't Rogen or his brother Dave Franco to have to answer for him anymore. Franco said Rogen's comments were hurtful, but that he gets it & confirmed that they don't have any plans to work together.
Franco claims that he is a changed man and that he understands that there were issues that he had to deal with that were related to addiction.
