Vice President Kamala Harris will be back in the Bay Area next week for the first time since ascending to the position.

Harris is scheduled to visit Oakland on Monday, where she'll talk about a range of topics like water, infrastructure to small business, reported the San Francisco Chronicle. Harris, who was born in Oakland, kicked off her short-lived presidential campaign there in January 2019.

No other details about the vice president's appearances have been released.

Harris began her career as a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office before being elected District Attorney in San Francisco, California Attorney General and U.S. Senator.

Harris and her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, will travel to their home Los Angeles on Thursday and remain there through Sunday, her office said. They have no public events scheduled yet.

On Tuesday, Harris is slated to travel from Oakland to Chicago, where she will focus on COVID-19 vaccine equity.

She will then return to Washington, D.C.
