Compton Advocates Coalition is holding the 4th Annual Community Resource Fair Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gonzales Park. It is expected to be the largest in the city’s history.
Over 60 community organizations are participating. During the event, participants can get free haircuts by Hey Leche Foundation, get something new to read through a book giveaway courtesy of employees of Lakeshore learning, get a healthcare screening and more.
“Compton Advocates was founded with the mission to educate, activate, and empower the Compton community and beyond,” said a press release for the event. “Through their work, they strive to provide resources and support to those in need and to create a stronger, more connected community.”
Attendees can also connect with job opportunities and educational programs that may shape their future.
“We are thrilled to bring this event to the community four the fourth year and to partner with Councilwoman Deidre Duhart and the City of Compton to make it happen,” said Candace Leos, founder of Compton Advocates. “Our goal is to provide as many resources and services as possible to those in need and to create stronger, more empowered communities.”
This event is free and open to the public. More information is available at (714) 566-5927, team@comptonadvocates.org or at www.comptonadvocates.org.
