Living with your parents is “bad for society” 36% of Americans say

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — We’re living in a time where more young adults are continuing to live with their parents into adulthood, and some Americans think that’s a bad idea.

In fact, in a newly released Pew Research Center survey, 36% of Americans say living with your parents is actually “bad for society.”

The survey found that 16% say it’s a good move, and almost half said that it doesn’t make a difference.

Per WTOP News, about half of young adults 18 to 29-years-old were living with their parents as of July 2022, which is actually  down from 52% in June of 2020, which was at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2010, 44% of young adults were living with their parents .

The survey answers differed by race, income, political party, age, gender and ethnicity.

Of those who participated, those with a higher income, men, and white adults were the most likely to say living with your parents is bad for society.
