In the future, humans might actually become extraterrestrial beings. That is, some of us might start being conceived and born in space.
SpaceBorn United is a Netherlands-based company that is on the forefront of human reproduction in the cosmos. Dr. Egbert Edelbroek, CEO of the company, joined “Something Offbeat” to discuss the mission.
“If we want to become a multi-planetary species and we need to realize independent human settlements on other planets, that would include learning how to reproduce on the other planets,” he explained.
But, having babies in space is more complicated than you might think. And that’s where Edelbroek’s team comes in. They’re sending missions out of Earth’s atmosphere to get the ball rolling.
