Chicago Police have charged a California man who reportedly attacked a woman near Union Station, stabbing her multiple times and leaving her badly injured.
Wilson Barreno, 25, of Oakland California has been charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated battery.
Chicago police said it happened around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when they said Barreno allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times with what was described as a “sharp object.”
Barreno fled the scene, but the victim's husband said a stranger managed to help catch the offender.
First responders took the woman to a nearby local hospital where she is continuing to recover.
Barreno is due in court on Friday for a detention hearing.
