MORENO VALLEY (CNS) - A 22-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats for a confrontation with another man at a gas station in Moreno Valley.

At 3 p.m. Tuesday, deputies from the sheriff's Moreno Valley station responded to the 23900 block of Sunnymead Boulevard regarding a man in possession of a gun, according to Sgt. Joseph Fitzgerald of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

They learned that the suspect, identified as Nathan Ramirez, was involved in an unspecified dispute with Dominic Ward, a 35-year-old Moreno Valley man. Ramirez allegedly threatened to kill Ward and pointing a handgun at him. The suspect fled the location in a vehicle before deputies arrived at the scene, Fitzgerald said.

Moreno Valley deputies located the suspect's vehicle Saturday morning in the area of Sunnymead Boulevard and Heacock Street and arrested Ramirez and his passenger, Jem Urich of Lancaster. Urich was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Los Angeles County for domestic battery, officials said.

A search warrant for Ramirez's vehicle and residence recovered a loaded firearm and more evidence inside his residence, according to the department.

Ramirez was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on $25,000 bail.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the confrontation was urged to contact Deputy A. Almadin of the sheriff's Moreno Valley station at 951-486-6700.
