Dallas Mavericks games will cease to be like others, as owner Mark Cuban announces that he will no longer kick off home games with the national anthem.

According to The Athletic, there was no anthem at any of the team's 13 preseason games at American Airlines Center.

Cuban didn’t make the removal public, but when the Athletic reached out to Cuban to ask about their recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves where no anthem was played, Cuban confirmed Monday evening that moving forward into the regular season, no anthem would be played before games.

The Athletic reports that Cuban declined a request for further comment or explanation Monday evening. The Mavericks organization also declined comment Tuesday, per the website.
