Presumably to avoid the types of political proclamations that threaten the sanctity of holiday gatherings from sea to shining sea, Mattel is offering up a very special version of one of its most popular games this Christmas season.

New for 2023 and just in time for another Presidential election year, you can now purchase “Non-Partisan Uno.”

Non-Partisan Uno is essentially the same as regular run-of-the-mill Uno, but with two very distinct changes.

The first and most noticeable change is the color scheme of the cards themselves. “Without Red or blue cards, the focus can stay on the game,” the official packaging reads. “And remember to yell ‘UNO!’ when you reach across the aisle to play your last card.”

With no red or blue cards in the deck, the four colors available in Non-Partisan Uno are green, yellow, orange and purple.

The other addition to the new version of the game is a “VETO” card.

According to the game’s instruction manual, the “VETO” card is placed in the center of the table. If someone brings up anything political as a topic of conversation during the game, that person is handed the “VETO” card, and they essentially lose a turn.

It seems the new edition of the game has proven pretty popular.
It is currently listed as “sold out” on Walmart’s website.
