Mother of Marine killed in Kabul invites Trump to funeral

Former President Donald Trump has been invited to the funeral of a Marine who was killed in last month's terror attack near the Kabul airport in Afghanistan.

Kareem Nikoui was one of 11 Marines and 13 servicemembers total who were killed in the suicide bombing perpetrated by ISIS at the Hamid Karzai International Airport.

Nikoui's mother, Shana Chappell, posted a public invitation on Facebook to invite the former President to honor her son.

"I would love if some how [sic] my President ( you Mr. Trump) could be present as i [sic] lay my Beautiful baby boy Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui to rest," she wrote. "It would be such an honor to meet the real President of the United States of America, President Trump. I love you and America loves you."

Both Chappell and Nikoui's father Steve have been vocal about blaming their son's death on current President Joe Biden's plan for extracting the U.S. from Afghanistan.

Steve Nikoui relayed his thoughts to the Daily Beast just one day after his son's death.

"They sent my son over there as a paper pusher and then had the Taliban outside providing security," Nikoui said.

For his part, Trump responded to Chappell's request with an email from his Save America Pac. "Thank you Shana," the statement read. "Our Country loves you and especially loves your beautiful boy, Kareem."

Trump did not comment on whether he would attend the funeral.
