Officer fired after allegedly pepper-spraying Black Army lieutenant during traffic stop in VA
A Virginia police officer accused of pepper-spraying and drawing his gun at a Black Army officer has been fired.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northan requested an investigation by Virginia State Police after video of a December 2020 incident in Windsor, Virginia went viral over the weekend.
Windsor is about 70 miles southeast of Richmond.
Two Windsor officers were accused of drawing their guns and pointing them at U.S. Army second lieutenant Caron Nazario, while also using a slang term to suggest he was facing execution.

According to a lawsuit filed by Nazario, he was pepper-sprayed and knocked to the ground by officers, Joe Gutierrez and Daniel Crocker.
Windsor officials began an investigation into the use of force in the case against Nazario, and disciplinary action was taken. Gutierrez has since been fired, according to ABC-7,
