
Gamers around the world will have to keep up the wait for the next installment of the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto video game series, with Grand Theft Auto VI slated for release on May 26, 2026.
Rockstar Games high action, open-world, crime experience has been in development since 2018, following the release of the highly acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2, and continues a series beloved by gamers since the first Grand Theft Auto released in November of 1997. The enthusiasm bolstered by the first trailer for GTAVI posted on YouTube in December of 2023, garnering over 250 million views.

The developers also understand that the wait has been very long already, with Grand Theft Auto V releasing in September 2013. Rockstar extending an olive branch in a statement, "With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve."
