NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal just did something he has never done before in his life – vote.

The 48-year-old Hall of Famer made the revelation on his podcast, “The Big Podcast,” on Wednesday that he filled out a ballot for the very first time.

“Ladies and gentleman, I have a confession. I’ve never voted before, America,” he said. “But, now I’m doing all these voting campaigns and ya know one thing I never like to do, is be a hypocrite.”

Shaq has been a part of voting initiatives, such as Michelle Obama’s nonpartisan voting initiative #MyStartingFive challenge, which aims to help people register to vote via a social media campaign to tag five friends and pledge to vote.

O’Neal, who retired from the NBA in 2011, said he voted this year by absentee ballot.

“In other words, America, I voted for the first time and it feels good,” he said.

O’Neal did not get into who he may have cast his ballot for, and has previously said publicly that he isn’t against endorsing anybody, but that he’s “just not going to talk about it.”

“My though is that if you are not an expert on it or if you haven’t been doing it, don’t do it,” he told CNBC back in January. “I can tell when a person is really motivated by doing it or I can tell when they are just trying to get likes.”
