Video emerged Wednesday of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican QAnon supporter from Georgia, appearing to harass David Hogg near the U.S. Capitol.
Hogg became a well-known gun control activist following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14, 2018.
The video's exact time and date is unclear according to the Sun Sentinel. But it was posted on Twitter January 27 by Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter Jamie was killed during the shooting at the Parkland high school along with 17 other people. Guttenberg has also become an outspoken gun-control activist since the shooting.
In the video Greene seems to be following Hogg as he and others are walking in Washington D.C., firing off a barrage of questions, and aggressively pressing for answers.
“How’d you do that? How did you get major press coverage on this issue and how did you get kids? Why do you use kids why kids?” Greene can be heard saying.
On Tuesday, CNN reported that Greene Greene showed her support for executing well-known Democrats before she ran for Congress in 2020. A supporter of the QAnon conspiracy Greene, who has a long history of racist comments, was elected to the House in November after winning the Republican primary in a heavily conservative district in Georgia.
Hogg remains silent, which seems to push Greene to call him a “coward” for ignoring her.
Hogg tweeted about the video saying, “It’s so frustrating that we have people like @mtgreenee in Congress that would rather spread conspiracies about mass shootings than confront the reality people are dying everyday from gun violence. I just want to do the work and help end gun violence,” Hogg wrote, adding, “You think we want to be doing this? @mtgreenee No- I’d much rather be able to be a college student but I & others can’t & you know why? Bc corrupt politicians like you have made it so it’s on the survivors of Gun violence to end gun violence bc you can’t do your damn job.”
Much of the video is Greene speaking.
“Guess what, I’m a gun owner. I’m an American citizen and I have nothing. But this guy with his George Soros funding and his major liberal funding has got everything. I want you to think about that that’s where we are and he’s a coward he can’t say one word,” Greene said at one point in the video.
Later Wednesday Hogg responded on Twitter again saying, “After surviving gun violence this is just 1/10 of 1% of the harassment advocates for gun control have to deal with,” Hogg wrote. “Everyday we are forced to act and fight through all our trauma to fight for those that can’t because they were killed due to people like you refusing to do your job and protect kids not guns.”
