Vin Diesel is calling on Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to come back for the tenth and final Fast and Furious movie.

In a post on Instagram, Diesel posted a pic of his character Dominic Toretto and Johnson’s character Luke Hobbs facing off. Diesel pleaded for his costar’s return in the caption, writing, “I say this out of love ... but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle.”

“You have a very important role to play,” Diesel wrote. “Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

Diesel also wrote that he promised his co-star, the late Paul Walker, who he referred to in the post as “Pablo”, that “we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10!”

In an interview with Men’s Health back in June, Diesel said the publicized feud between he and Johnson was intended to bolster Johnson’s performance.

“I could give a lot of tough love…Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing,” the actor said at the time.

In July, Johnson responded to the quote in the Hollywood Reporter.

“I laughed, and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that,” Johnson said. “I wish them well on Fast 9.
And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10, Fast 11, and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.’”
