WASHINGTON (KNX) — Vice President Harris plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this weekend, the Los Angeles Times and the Hill reported Wednesday evening.

The meeting will follow her formal speech at the Munich Security Conference Friday, according to multiple outlets who cited a senior administration official.
The Vice President will address the escalating tensions at the Ukrainian border as large-scale Russian military operations continue. Officials reportedly said Harris would contend that a Russian invasion of Ukraine would only weaken Russia and result in broader crises across the continent.
Harris will reaffirm the U.S. and allies’ commitment to NATO and Biden’s promise to respond forcefully to any Russian aggression.
Harris is also expected to meet with Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary-General of NATO, and other foreign leaders, including Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
The vice president’s meeting with Zelensky will take place Saturday, the outlets reported.
Experts said the Vice President’s appearance in Munich signals how seriously the White House is approaching the tension in Eastern Europe. Back home, gas prices could see yet another climb amid any destabilization of the oil-supplying country.
