If you’re like many people, who don’t fit neatly into the current eligibility for a COVID-19 vaccine (elderly, essential worker, or compromising health conditions), you’re probably jumping out of your skin worried, and impatiently waiting for your turn for a shot.

You may be able to find a leftover vaccine thanks to a new website called Dr. B.

It works by adding your name to a virtual list and texting you when a dose is available in your zip code.

So far, over a million people have signed up, according to the site.

That said, it’s not the panacea that it appears to be, as providers need to buy in as well. And so far, only sites in Queens, New York, and one in Little Rock, Arkansas have jumped on board.

A spokesperson for Dr. B tells Los Angeles magazine, the program isn’t live in California yet, but 46 providers in California are “in the pipeline at the moment.”

According to the New York Times, Dr. B is a for-profit business that collects personal info, and has not made it clear exactly what happens to that info. Additionally, the site asks that participants be ready to get vaccinated and at their designated appointment spots in 15 minutes -- limiting the opportunities for anyone who can leave work at the drop of a hat.
