Some JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo customers are wondering where their stimulus checks are.

But don't worry you will get it soon, according to both banks.

Thanks to the recent $1.9 trillion federal stimulus package that President Biden signed into law last week, Americans can look forward to up to $1,400 checks in their bank accounts.

News reports stated that the amount could be deposited into bank accounts as early as last weekend but the official payment date isn't until March 17, according to a CBS story. That's the date both JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo told CBS.

According to the National Automated Clearing House Association, which governs the direct deposit process for many banks and credit unions in the U.S., the payments should be available by 8:30 a.m. March 17, as reported in a CNBC story.

"Wells Fargo added that it "is not holding the funds" and that it will deposit the money into accounts as soon as possible," the CBS story reported.

"March 17, 2021 is the first official payment date for eligible customers to receive a direct deposit of their stimulus payment, and customers may see a direct deposit as early as that morning," Wells Fargo said on its site.

JPMorgan Chase, meanwhile, said on its site "We expect that electronic stimulus payments will be available in eligible Chase accounts as soon as Wednesday, March 17, 2021. See below for tips and other ways you could get your payment."

HOW TO TRACK THE STIMULUS CHECK

Wells Fargo said in an emailed statement to CBS that "Our goal is to support our customers, and we will proactively reverse outstanding Wells Fargo fees, including overdraft fees, for those who have a qualifying negative ending daily balance when their stimulus payment is deposited."
