NEW YORK (WFAN.com) -- The New York Jets will have a new coach and plenty of new players when they start their 2019 season, and they'll have a spiffy new look, too.
On Thursday night, the team held a launch party at Gotham Hall in New York City to unveil their new uniforms and their new logo. After a lengthy series of introductions, the new threads were finally revealed.
The changes represent the first major alterations to the team's uniforms since 1998. Colors featured on the new jerseys include "Gotham Green," "Spotlight White," and "Stealth Black." "New York" is featured prominently on each of the three new shirts, whereas the old uniforms didn't have any lettering on the front. Gone is the Jets logo that was positioned on the chest of the jerseys.
The new black jerseys will certainly catch the eye. The revealed new look matches a leak that had surfaced on the internet a few days ago.
Changes have also been made to the team's helmets.
All of the changes are supposed to reflect a theme of being New York City's team.
The jerseys will be debuted when the Jets take the field in August for preseason football.
