NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez turns 35 -- the minimum age to be U.S. president -- on October 13, 2024, which is less than one month before the presidential election on November 5, 2024.
So will Ocasio-Cortez, who represents parts of the Bronx and Queens in Congress, run for president? During an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday, the newly-engaged lawmaker was asked just that.

"You know, there's some speculation as to whether President Biden is going to run in 2024," Colbert said to Ocasio-Cortez. "There's some reports he's a little frustrated that people keep asking, because he keeps on saying ‘yes,’ and people go, 'Are you sure? Are you sure?'"
"You know, I know somebody who is going to turn 35 about a month before the election in 2024, and they represent New York's 14th," Colbert said, as Ocasio-Cortez squirmed in her seat, smiling. "Is that job appealing to you at all?"
"Theoretically?" he pushed, as she continued to squirm in her seat, laughing.
Ocasio-Cortez then composted herself, and said, "Listen, I think that we need to focus on keeping a democracy, for anybody to be president in the next couple of years. And that's my central focus, helping the people of this country right now."
Colbert pushed, jokingly saying, "So it's possible, it's possible."
Ocasio-Cortez said, laughing, "I don't know about all of that ... you're going to get me in trouble!"
Earlier this month, the Democratic lawmaker said she plans to endorse Joe Biden in a reelection bid.
"I believe that the president has been doing a very good job so far and should he run again," she said on CNN. "I think we'll take a look at it, but right now we need to focus on winning a majority instead of a presidential election."
