Caitlyn Jenner, one of a plethora of contenders vying to replace Gov.
Gavin Newsom in the Sept. 14 recall election, is taking her campaign global.

Jenner, who told KNX in June that she was “the new face of the Republican Party,” will apparently campaign from another continent. According to Vanity Fair, Jenner traveled to Australia earlier this week to take part in filming the reality TV show, “Celebrity Big Brother.”

In a tweet, Jenner claimed that the race of the state’s highest office was at the forefront of her mind. She tweeted, in part: “My campaign team is in full operation as am I.”

According to TMZ, Jenner had previously committed to participate in the reality show before she jumped into the race for governor. The website reported that Jenner is currently in a mandatory 14-day quarantine before filming begins and will film for one week before returning to California.

Vanity Fair said that the show has not officially confirmed Jenner’s appearance, but the 71-year-old former Olympian is expected to be paid roughly $372,500 for her participation.

After an epic back and forth Jenner filed the initial paperwork to run for governor of California and announced her bid on April 23. Her first news conference as a Republican candidate, held on July 9, lasted 15 minutes and was light on specifics or detailed policy discussion.

Last week, Politico reported that Jenner dismissed a poll that showed her fourth among Republican contenders.

“Honestly, I'm not concerned about the polling,” Jenner told the outlet. “I guarantee you that I am in the lead."
