West Valley College lifts lockdown, two arrested

According to the school’s website, West Valley College in Saratoga, California, was put on lockdown due to a reported armed intruder being seen on campus.

The lockdown was lifted just before 1:40 p.m. as school officials declared the campus safe, adding that two suspects were arrested.

Officials also said the weapon was a replica firearm.

Details regarding the suspects were not released publicly.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office reported around 12:15 p.m. that officers were at the scene currently searching for the suspect.

The suspect was described by the school as a “white male seen carrying a long rifle” with a “red Cadillac” spotted in one of the school’s parking lots — Lot 1.
