Organizer of Coachella, Goldenvoice, and Riverside County government are reportedly in talks to open a massive COVID-19 vaccine site.

According to Digital Music News, V. Manuel Perez, who is currently supervisor for Riverside County’s fourth district and was previously a Coachella, California, councilman, has said that Goldenvoice’s experience in logistics and planning could prove useful in terms of COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

Although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, and several vaccination centers have opened elsewhere throughout Riverside County, there are reports that the county has already depleted most of its existing doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

“It’s a matter of vaccine supply that really slows us down,” Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari told the Desert Sun.

As more vaccines become available, perhaps Goldenvoice’s real motivation in helping Riverside County is to assure that Coachella Fest can remain on the schedule for April 9.

Digital Music News reports that last month Lupe Fiasco announced that he would demand fans to be vaccinated for the virus before attending his concert.
