SUSANVILLE, Calif.(KNX) – A California Highway Patrol officer had quite the run-in with a cow.

CHP’s Susanville division posted the dashcam footage of the interaction on its Facebook page Thursday. Footage showed the cow charging toward Officer Brandon Pratt as the two ran off camera before Pratt appeared back on camera without the cow.

Bruce Thuelchassaigne, a spokesperson for the CHP Susanville division, told the Los Angeles Times Pratt was trying to get the cow off the side of the highway when the cow gave “glancing blow” to Pratt’s shoulder.

“The cow was pretty mad,” he told the L.A. Times. “It put its head down and went to throw him up in the air.”

Pratt did not have any major injuries from the incident, officials said.
