"Firefighters [are] making progress as fire continues to move through medium/heavy fuel under influence of north winds," SBFD tweeted. "Approximately 100 acres; 0% contained."

As several structures remain threatened, firefighters have implemented evacuation orders along several areas. Those areas include all homes or structures south of Melrose Avenue to Roy Rogers Drive, between Bryman Road and the Mojave River Bottom, fire officials said.

More than 100 firefighters are working to contain the fire, including several from the SBFD, Victorville Fire Department, Chino Valley Fire Department, and agencies in Apple Valley, Loma Linda, Rancho Cucamonga, and Fort Irwin.

All resources, including some 22 engines, are expected to stay at the scene overnight to keep watch on the fire before additional resources arrive Tuesday, SBFD said.

This is a developing story. KNX will continue to update as details become available.
