A former first round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins has been found guilty of first degree murder and also attempted murder.
51-year old Dan Serafini, the 26th overall pick by the team in the 1992 MLB draft shot and killed his father-in-law Gary Spohr, and also injuring his mother-in-law Wendy Wood in June of 2021 in a North Lake Tahoe, California home after a dispute over a $1.3 million ranch renovation project.
Serafini was accused of waiting inside the home before ambushing and shooting them. Wood survived the attack, but died by suicide years later.
Serafini is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 18 in Placer County, California and could face life in prison.
