Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong's 1962 Chevy stolen in Costa Mesa

COSTA MESA, Calif. (KNX) – Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong said his car was stolen in Costa Mesa on Friday.

The car is a white 1962 Chevy II.

“This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the (Green Day) family for over 30 years,” Armstrong tweeted.

“Please send any sighting, tips or info to the Costa Mesa police. Incident # 2015,2016. Please call 714-754-5280 please re-post, & find this car!!”

The theft was reported to police on Saturday, according to the Orange County Register.

It’s believed the car was stolen while parked on Victoria Street.
