A San Jose grocery worker is in a coma, unable to walk, talk or eat on his own after he was brutally beaten outside a FoodMaxx grocery store on Halloween night.

Police are hoping the public can help identify the man’s attackers.

Jamie Plancarte, 37, has worked at the Foodmaxx for the last two years

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m. in the parking lot. Jamie Plancarte was discovered by a coworker severely beaten

“My mom called me at 5 in the morning telling me my brother was in the hospital and that he wasn’t going to make it. We all had to say goodbye to him,” Plancarte’s sister Sophia Plancarte told Fox 11.

Sophia Plancart says her brother was unrecognizable and the family was told he’d suffered traumatic brain injury and fractures to his face due to the beating.

Police released photos of three women who the suspect was with at the time of the attack. The suspect appeared to be in his 20’s. The group were in a silver four-door car with a sunroof, tinted rear windows and a noticeable dent by the gas tank.

FoodMaxx released a statement saying that store employees were left terrified by the attack. The company is working with police to provide video footage.

Sophia Plancarte says her brother, who loved mountain biking was a non-confrontational person, which makes the attack all the more tragic.

“He didn't deserve this,” Plancarte's cousin, Lydia Payer told FOX 11. “No one does but especially not him. He’s not the type of guy to start stuff. He’s not violent.”

Go Fund Me has been set up to help Jaime Plancarte.

The family is hoping Plancart will be able to leave the ICU soon, and they're determined to get justice for him.
