SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KNX) - A traffic stop in Sacramento ended with law enforcement officials uncovering up to 100,000 pills suspected to have fentanyl in them.

On Monday, officers with the California Highway Patrol Valley Division performed a traffic stop near Northgate Boulevard for suspected mechanical violations.

Officers said K-9 Hektor and his handler went to help with the traffic stop after officers indicated criminal activity.

A search led to officers finding 80 pounds of what was believed to be methamphetamine, 100,000 blue “M30” pills believed to have fentanyl, and $4,100.
