More Southern California counties are getting out of the purple - or strictest - tier in the state's corona-virus reopening system.
With Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties making the move, most of the region is now out of purple and into the red tier.
The four counties can start lifting restrictions Wednesday.
"Just in case somebody is thinking 'everything is open again,' it is but not quite 100%," says Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez who points out restrictions remain in the red tier.
For example, indoor dining can resume but only at 25% capacity or no more than 100 people, whichever is fewer.
Indoor operations at gyms and fitness centers are limited to 10% capacity.
LA and Orange counties, which only recently moved into the red tier, are now getting close to qualifying for a move into the orange tier. At that level, wineries, breweries and distilleries can resume indoor operations, at 25% or 100 people, whichever is fewer, and bars that don't serve food can reopen outdoors only.
