Rocklin man killed after helping ducks cross the road

ROCKLIN, Calif. (KNX) – Moments after a Rocklin man helped a family of ducks cross the road, he was struck and killed.

It happened Thursday at the intersection of Park Drive and Stanford Ranch Boulevard, according to the Rocklin Police Department.

The driver, described by police as a juvenile, struck the man while he was in the roadway. Police said the man died at the scene. The ducks were not harmed.

The man’s name was not revealed.

A 12-year-old boy told KCRA 3 he saw the man get out of his car to help the family of ducks cross the road.

“He helped them get up over the curb because all the little baby duckies were having trouble and then he walked in front of our car," he said, adding that no one went through the intersection while the man was helping the ducks.

Police said no arrests were made and the incident remains under investigation.
