ROSEVILLE, Calif. (KNX) – Realtors in the Roseville area say a couple is going to open houses pretending to be homebuyers and are stealing items from inside the homes.

The most recent hit happened at an open house on Saturday, when Sabina Khan, a realtor with Realty One Group, told ABC 10 the couple stole medication.

Khan recalled the couple going upstairs where she and another realtor who was with her could hear drawers opening and closing.

“(Khan and the other realtor) ran upstairs and then the husband started talking really loud and then he stood in the master bedroom, like he’s blocking our way. Then we could tell that the woman was in the bathroom opening and closing the cabinets,” Khan told the station.

Khan said the homeowners later reported their daughter’s medication was stolen.

Another realtor, Elizabeth Axelgard, told ABC 10 that the same couple stole ice cream from another open house in 2019.

Despite reports being given to the Roseville police, the department told CBS 13 realtors can’t file police reports because the homes don’t belong to realtors and the homeowners have to be the ones to report it.

In the meantime, realtors are asking people in the area to keep an eye out.

Khan described the couple to KNX News as “elderly”, “talking really loud,” and “always has a story.”
